Harold Pinter

Harold Pinter ble født i London i 1930. Han bodde sammen med forfatteren Antonia Fraser fra 1975 til han døde i 2008 (De ble gift i 1980).  

Harold Pinter skrev 29 skuespill, deriblant The Birthday Party, The Dumb Waiter, A Slight Ache, TheHothouse, The Caretaker, The Collection, The Lover, The Homecoming, Old Times, No Man’s Land,Betrayal, A Kind of Alaska, One For The Road, The New World Order, Moonlight og Ashes to Ashes. Han regisserte 27 skuespill, deriblant Exiles, Oleanna, Celebration og The Room, og han skrev 21 manuskripter for film og TV, deriblant The Pumpkin Eater, The Servant, The Go-Between, The French Lieutenant’s Woman og Sleuth.  

Av priser har han mottatt Nobelprisen i litteratur, Companion of Honour for services to Literature, Legion D’Honneur, European Theatre Prize, Laurence Olivier Award og Moliere D’Honneur for lifetime achievement. I 1999 ble han kåret til Companion of Literature av Royal Society of Literature.
